Welcome to the Auer Dult München
Tradition and diversity in the heart of the city
History and Tradition
The Auer Dult in Munich, a traditional market with a fair-like character, has a long history. In 1796, the suburb of Au was granted the right to hold a fair twice a year, and since then, the Auer Dulten have been a tradition. The oldest one, the Jakobidult, was mentioned as early as 1310 and took place on Mariahilfplatz in 1905. The term “Dult” originally meant a church festival but evolved over time to mean “fair”.
